Join Us To Get Back To Our Traditions
About Us
Artha is an initiative of the Sri Sri Rural Development Program of Art of Living to revive the diminishing culture of Athanguadi Tiles which has been a pride of Chettinad, Tamil Nadu, India for century. The word ‘Artha’ means ‘essence’. Our essence is to revive the ancient arts and support the livelihood of the traditional artisans, hence Artha Tiles are among the few choices available today to create an ethnic ambience. Our tiles are handcrafted by specialized tile makers and have a very unique way of being manufactured. Tiles processed are a blend of the east and the west. We hope to thrill our customers with great designs and value proposition driven by continuous improvements in tile creativity, innovation, efficiency and customer service.

Our Vision
We are creators and we want to be creative every day. We do not underestimate the “container” significance because we believe that one of the greatest richness is the emptiness able to contain everything. We believe that home accessories have a great power in creating aesthetic value, beauty, intimacy and personal meaning. We want to preserve and promote craftsmanship, implementing the understanding and appreciation of the “handmade” process.
Our Mission
We aim to add a touch of class to our customer’s choice of floor with our handcrafted, decorative Artha Tiles offering a blend of breath taking heritage and contemporary styles.

Frequently Asked Questions
The tile responds well to use. The more you walk on it, the shinier it gets. Non usage may dull the tile. Regular cleaning is essential. You can even wash the floors. Once a week, mop the floor with a mixture of warm water and 10-15 drops of coconut oil. It keeps the sheen intact. Avoid using harsh chemicals, phenyl etc. Use plain water, and most importantly, change the water often while mopping the floor. This will keep the tiles clean, and indeed, will ensure your tiles gleam more and more over the years. If you like, you may buy our soap solution and use a small capful in each bucket of water. A small bottle should last you a long time.
It is best suited to porches, verandas and living rooms where traffic is quite high. For smaller size rooms, use smaller and less intricate designs. The more intricate ones look dramatic in larger areas.
